Too often, while traveling and connecting, we hear about horrendous acts against members of the LGBTQ community. These acts by ugly people put fear into the hearts of others and prevents them from going out into the world. While we fight for peaceful living for LGBTQ folks, and for all people, we want to make sure they are aware that the entire world isn’t ugly and there are places who welcome them with smiles and good ass food and drinks!
Happy Pride! Travel Openly & Freely!
Montevideo, Uruguay
If the beauty of the beaches and the people isn’t enough, this South American city is on the front lines in the fight for human rights. The beaches are beautiful and the nightlife is loud and festive! And you can skip over to Buenos Aires by ferry if you’re keen.
Florianópolis, Brazil
Home of South America’s first lesbian surf camp, Gay Surf Brazil (also welcoming trans and gay men), this place is a bit of a “gay mecca.” It’s Brazil, so the beaches are undoubtedly dope as fuck, and the nightlife is ongoing with the beats bumping into your chest. Pride Week and Carnival are not to be missed, so come shake your colorful tail feathers ASAP!
Taiwan
The capital city, Taipei, is a gay-friendly, progressive city with foods worth dying for and the biggest annual Pride celebration in Asia. Dozens of bars, saunas, night markets, lounges, and beautiful people line the streets! Oh! And they just ruled that same-sex marriage is legal! Go Taiwan!
All Of Spain
Called “the gayest country in Europe,” Spain has everything you may need: cruise ship ports for gay crusies, Ibiza, Ella International Lesbian Festival, Bear Week, saunas, bars, love, sun, and the relationship you can’t find at home. One friend said, “In Barcelona, I felt a different type of love. A love I never considered because I never knew it existed.”
Copenhagen, Denmark
In 1989, Denmark became the first nation in the world to recognize registered same-sex partnerships. Come now, and it’s home to Europe’s oldest openly gay bar, Centralhjørne, and the edgy red light district, Vesterbro, where you can find just about anything you’re looking for. With no shortage of gay-friendly establishments, including lodging, bars, food, and clubs, this is one of the gay-friendliest places in the world.
New Zealand
The founding country of the term “Gay Friendly,” New Zealand offers a multitude of accommodations to make the LGBTQ folks feel at home, wherever home really is. New Zealand also reaches out to the LGBTQ folks in nearby nations like Australia, offering them gaycation accommodations when their home country isn’t as friendly.
Berlin, Germany
“The things I did in Berlin can’t possibly be mentioned on your site,” my friend says. But he did say it’s a place for those who are ready to take that walk where the wild things are (shout out to Maurice Sendak). Head over to Schöneberg, Kreuzberg, and Prenzlauerberg districts for the clubs and bars that boast about not having closing times. Pack your good clothes and your fetishes and head over to Germany!

Let’s do everything we can to make sure everywhere is safe for everyone! It sometimes starts with something as simple as good food, good drinks, and good conversation!
