I’m that coach section passenger who, when exiting the plane, grabs all the unopened blanket bags, and all the toiletries and still-packaged foods given to the First Class passengers. Hell, may as well keep them, especially after paying a fancy fee for the flight. Thanks to LAN Airlines, their amazing flight attendants, and the forgetful passengers in First Class, I collected 7 blankets and 4 Salvatore Ferragamo toiletry bags. I got home, and added those blankets to the ones collected on Delta, Aeroflot, and American.

I fit my blanket collection into a large duffle bag and stuffed that bag into the trunk of my dear friend, Naomi’s car, along with a few coats and a load of suits, shoes, and coats donated by Naomi. We drove them to LA’s Skid Row and made sure each item found new owners.

It’s cold out there. If you’re traveling, don’t turn down any of the free items the airline is giving. Give the gift of warmth this year.
