When I was 18 I saw this photo by Robert Doisneau of two lovers kissing by the Hotel De Ville in Paris:

It’s been my favorite photo for years. Just the realness and rawness of it. I want to know who they are, what happened before and what happened after. What are others thinking about the man who’s taking a picture of an intimate moment between lovers?

I said I’d recreate this photo one day. Not this trip. But maybe the next. But I did go down to the Hotel de Ville and waited a while for lovers. The rain came before I got a photo I’d absolutely love, but I did get something:
