I read a lot of travel-related articles, both online and in hardcopy format. There is an increase in the number of organizations that are renting apartments and condominiums for its traveling employees. That’s actually a smart financial idea, particularly if several employees are traveling. But it’s also a good idea for your personal travel with family or friends — whether domestic or international travel. I did some research and found a few nice and not-so-nice places. I think these places would work not only for business travelers but also for people traveling with friends or family. I want to highlight three of the venues I found via Air BNB, venues on my bucket list. There are a few competing sites out there. But I happen to like this one.
I never understood the concept of people saving the best for last. Let me showcase the best one first. It is a four-bedroom, chic apartment in downtown Paris, France. The going rate for this fully furnished 1500 square foot, four bedroom apartment goes for $319 per night and can accommodate up to five, with $34 per person per night for additional people up to a maximum of seven. It has a variety of amenities, including wireless internet, high ceilings, fireplace, big screen television, modern kitchen, and hardwood floors. It’s beautiful with plenty of frills. For $319, that’s a fantastic deal if you have a group.
Next is a quaint studio apartment in Costa Rica. For $155 per night, it sleeps two comfortably and has a kitchen, large windows, free wireless internet, and the host stocks the fridge and the pantry with a variety of native foods you might enjoy cooking. The host/owner or his representative is always available if assistance is needed during your stay.
Lastly is Vancouver. This $130 per night two bedroom two bath has many modern amenities, including a 50” flatscreen TV with Apple TV and Netflix, wireless internet, sauna, hot tub, fitness center, Olympic sized swimming pool, and in-suite washer and dryer.
Air BnB is an excellent source for accommodations when you’re traveling. The site has thousands of properties ranging from the plush and exquisite category to the “who would pay to stay there in that rat hole?” category. If you have a spare house or apartment sitting around, you can list it and host travelers too.
I’m an avid traveler for both domestic and international venues. I’ve learned a lot of things, some of them the hard way, that taught me valuable lessons. So, I am passing that knowledge on to others to help make their trip more enjoyable and stress-free. I also will share what I think are great venues, stores, restaurants, or other things that I enjoyed that I think others would enjoy as well. Knowledge is power, transformational. Let us share with each other.
